35mm Photography

In my Introduction to Photography class, I discovered a deep passion for working with the medium of 35mm film. This hands-on experience allowed me to explore and apply many of the fundamental principles of photography, which in turn enriched my understanding of cinematography and camera operation. The process felt like stepping back in time, connecting with one of the earliest ways to preserve the essence of people and moments—translating fleeting experiences into tangible reflections that outlast their original existence.

Developing these works in the darkroom was both a technical and emotional journey. Each image became a deliberate act of preservation, a way to fossilize the presence of my loved ones into something enduring. Through these photographs, I sought to immortalize not only their faces but also the stories, emotions, and connections that defined those moments. Photography became more than a medium; it became a way to honor the transient beauty of life by capturing it forever.
